Climate and Low Season Information

The Algarvian low season runs from November to April.  The days are generally sunny, bright and warm although the evenings and mornings can be cooler than other times of the year. Between March and October there is usually little rain. The low season means roads are quieter, allowing easy access to the surrounding countryside.

Kazuri provides duvets and additional electric blankets as well as gas or electric heaters to ensure a cosy and snug atmosphere during the cooler months.

During early spring, the rain brings a profusion of wild flowers, lilies and small orchids, quickly followed by a mass of pink and white almond blossom.  Between March and May, the Algarve plays host to some of the rarest wild flowers in Europe, making Kazuri an ideal retreat for botanical enthusiasts, budding photographers and walkers.  Following the heat of the summer, the Algarve witnesses the almond, olive and carob bean harvests with the November olive harvest making an interesting photographic subject.

The cooler months reveal a different, more secret Algarve.  Picturesque villages are seen at their best away from the madding crowds of the summer months, and more temperate weather can make touring pleasant.  Why not meander inland, through scented citrus groves and fruit orchards, perhaps ending your adventure with a relaxed meal in a country restaurant as a finale?

Climate

The Algarve averages 3000 hours of sunshine each year – more than the Costa Brava, Majorca and the French Riviera!
